Brown Hill Storm makes sure of position

BROWN Hill Storm needed to win to consolidate fourth position on the Athlete’s Foot Cup netball ladder, and it was able to do so in the second half.

With scores level at half-time, both teams made a couple of positional changes at the start of the third quarter to see if either team could get an edge.

Brown Hill’s goaling combination of Tiarni Beasley and Brylee Schache has been in place from the start of the season, and it paid off.

Schache’s shooting stats of 15 out of 19 in the third quarter allowed Brown Hill to head into the last term with a 10-goal lead.

The defence of both UB Pride division one player Kira Payne and Erin Riley was tight, with Payne having an outstanding game as goalkeeper, turning many balls over and rebounding well.

Eureka made a couple of changes in the last quarter, with Adrienne Harris moving from goal defence into the centre, Eleanor Van Dyk changing from centre to goal defence, and Charlotte Nichols coming back on into a wing attack role.

This combination produced a winning last quarter by a goal, but Brown Hill had a nine-goal lead when the siren sounded.

The final score was Brown Hill Storm 46 d Eureka Kellies 37.
