HE is famous across Australia as a marathon hero, but Steve Moneghetti may soon be known for his work on the silver screen.
The premiere of Reverse Runner, in which Moneghetti features as a lead actor, premiered at the weekend in Colac.
And soon it might find its ways to the screens of the Regent Cinemas in Ballarat.
The co-directors of the film, Colac pair Jarrod Theodore and Lachlan Ryan, are now searching for a distributor of the film.
Reverse Runner focuses on Kid Campbell, played by former Ballarat man Dan Cannon, who dreams of becoming the fastest reverse runner in the world.
Moneghetti plays the role of John Jones, a former running legend who helps Campbell towards his goal.
Mr Theodore said it was great to premiere the film and that he looked forward to potentially having it screened in Ballarat.
“It was exciting to finally get it underway after five long years of work,” he said.
“Now we want to get it in front of as many Ballarat people as possible and really get it out there.”
More than 300 people attended the premiere.
