VFL coach Andy Collins has given the first-year North Ballarat Roosters head coach the task of looking after the backline for the clash with the SANFL in Adelaide on Sunday, May 29.
The coaching panel also comprises Ash Hansen (Footscray), Robbie Campbell (Williamstown) and Kieran McGuiness (Northern Blues).
Greig said being part of the panel would be a great experience.
He said he had no doubt he would learn a great deal.
Greig played for the VFL three times, including last time the VFL defeated the SANFL in Adelaide in 2002.
A VFL squad of 30 has been named, including the Roosters’ Luke Kiel and Nick Rippon.
This will be trimmed to 25, which will train for the first time on May 24 – the first of three training sessions before a traveling team of 23 will be named for the state game showdown.
