The Vikings’ aggressive play was again on show, with the visitors on the front foot for much of the game. Carl Frankson managed to find the net in the 30th minute before Alex Antonelli added to the scoreline.
While the Phoenix were able to peg one goal back, it was too little too late.
The success pushes the Vikings up to sixth on the FFV State League Four West ladder, and signifies a dramatic change in form for the Ballarat side.
The Vikings had been unable to register a win in their first five outings.
