Hind was assisted from the ground early in the last quarter against Western Region at Footscray, with initial fears he had broken his right ankle.

East Point coach Glenn Wilkins told The Courier on Sunday that Hind had been cleared of any fracture.

He said Hind was still likely to miss at least four to six weeks, depending on the severity of the injury.

Wilkins said a full assessment would be made once swelling went down.

Hind had an outstanding game for Ballarat in the AFL Victoria Community Championship fixture, playing out of defence.

The loss of Hind is the last thing East Point needed, with the Kangaroos having won just one of five games to launch the BFL home and away season.

Meanwhile, Hepburn has a nervous wait on defender Segifili Asa Leausa, who was reported in the Central Highlands' loss to Geelong and District.

Asa Leausa was yellow carded and sent from the ground late in the third quarter at Bungaree on Saturday.

He had his number taken for engaging in rough conduct against an opposition opponent – Geelong and District forward Jason Tom – which in the circumstances is unreasonable.

Asa Leausa had the option of accepting a set one-week penalty, but has decided to challenge the charge at tribunal during the week.

The result will be an important one for the Burras, which have a big clash against Waubra this coming Saturday.

Hepburn and the Roos are among a group of seven teams locked on 20 points at the top of the ladder.

And Buninyong might be without Sam Turner for its match against Carngham-Linton next weekend after the gun onballer was knocked out during the interleague encounter.

Turner didn’t take any part in Saturday’s match after half time.
