Coming off the back of four straight wins, the Spectres were forced to work in the opening quarter against the Rush, heading into the first change with a slender three point buffer. Amy Kame and Emilee Harmon proceeded to turn it on in the second term to give the visitors an 18 point lead at the main break.
A resurgent Rush came out firing in the third, with Joy Burke leading the charge as the Rush managed to claw back the difference to six points heading into the final period.
However the in form visitors held firm to run out the match by 10 points.
Abbey Wehrung was again the Rush’s most potent offensive option, shooting 19 points and amassing four rebounds while Ashleigh Spencer managed 19 points. Co-captains Kerryn Harrington and Kristy Rinaldi were also busy off the ball.
The Rush will now prepare to travel to Tasmania for a cross-conference clash with the Launceston Tornadoes, who sit second on the south conference ladder.
