Ballarat elder Ted Lovett led a smoking ceremony organised at Marty Busch Reserve before the senior football clash between Sebastopol and Lake Wendouree.
In addition, Bacchus Marsh and Redan were among BFNL clubs to wear specially designed strips for indigenous round.
In addition to football jumpers, Redan netballers also donned the colours against Sunbury at the City Oval.
The one-off Redan uniform was designed by Marley Smith, who was on hand at the match for the unveiling of the design and pre-match ceremony.
Her designed featured Lake Wendouree, the City Oval as the main meeting place of Redan and a series of symbols representing other clubs in the BFNL.
Redan indigenous player Grant Bell led the ceremony, expressing the BFNL’s commitment to making clubs all-inclusive environments by encouraging people from all walks of life to be involved.
