Missing a number of crucial players including midfielders Tessa Curtain and Holly Williamson, the Strikers managed to stay with the visitors to go into the break at 1-1.
However a two goal half from the Lions would be enough to see them over the line against the weakened Strikers. Despite the win the Lions remain at seventh place on the ladder.
The Strikers will look to return to the winners list next weekend when they travel to Farfield Park to take on the last-placed Yarra Jets.
