Avoiding the council election penalty

The avoidance of receiving a $70 fine is the only incentive I can find in voting in the upcoming council elections.

Most people nowadays are frustrated and totally disillusioned with all levels of government and their inane decisions and incompetence, as well as their ever-increasing poor standards of conduct.

Lets face it, a lot of our so-called bureaucrats would struggle to run the cake stall at the school fete.

This statement might seem harsh to some, but to many of us it is a bleak reality.

So to justify their fragile existence and fabricate some credibility, they determine to fine already cash-strapped families for non-compliance to vote.

Surely it is time for the community to be allowed a choice on whether to acknowledge these people at the ballot box or not without incurring a penalty.
