Lea is fourth after four rounds.
Joe Cooper is a clear leader on the points table, with Rhys Gillett second and Neil Van Den Ploeg third, but none of this trio is among the 37 entries for the men’s A grade division 138-kilometre scratch race.
Ballarat-Sebastopol Cycling Club, which runs event, has four riders in elite men’s bunch – Liam and Nick White, Angus Lyons and Jeremy McInnes.
The Fred Icke, which starts and finishes in Creswick, is being run as a scratch event for the first time after being a handicap race.
There will be nine divisions contested in a morning and afternoon wave.
Wave 1: women’s b and C grade, 9.05am; masters C grade, 9.10am; men’s C grade, 9.15am; masters B grade, 9.20am. Wave 2: men’s A grade, 12.30-m; masters A grade, 12.35pm; women’s A grade, 12.40pm; men’s B grade, 12.45pm
The 46km circuit has also been modified, with men’s and masters A grades covering three laps and all other grades two laps.
The experienced Bridie O’Donnell heads up a small field of 12 A grade women.
O’Donnell has been one of the most durable riders on the Australian domestic circuit over the past decade.
