The mixed side, consisting of Tom Boyle, Damon Prendergast, Ryan Carroll, Liam Carroll, Reilly Cording, Will Lawrence, Nicole Moll, Jane Pert and James Walker claimed the title after a thilling final which ended 5-4.
The Ballarat side were forced to work hard en route to the competition’s final game after dropping one of their six pool matches before going on to impress in the quarter and semi-finals.
On top of the triumph, Mount Clear were also voted the winners of the competition’s spirit award; a critical element of the self-umpired sport.
The competition was open to all secondary schools across the state from the private, public and Catholic systems.
The success comes just two months after Ballarat hosted the Australian Ultimate Championships, which saw competitors from around Australia and New Zealand descend on Morshead Park to fight for the national crown.
Over 600 athletes attended the competition which was also played at Marty Busch Reserve and St Patrick’s College.
Following the championship’s success, Ballarat Ultimate president Aaron Stewart said the organisation would apply to host the tournament again.
