The music of the “dream-pop” duo have been described as “washed” in their compositions of bass, guitar, loops, keys and drum machine.
The electronic, psychedelic rock duo will launch their second album this weekend in Ballarat, following on from debut Zimmer.
The pair’s new album Hi is an experiment in atmosphere, mood and repetition with a range of influences including drone, nowave and shoegaze.
The band has been compared to the likes of My Bloody Valentine and Fever Ray.
Fabels, comprised of artist Hiske Weijers, who also designs the band’s stunning artwork, and Ben Aylward, will perform at The Eastern, Humffray Street North, this Saturday from 8pm.
The pair will be supported by new Ballarat trio Alpha Hall and the fellow local band Goldentone. Entry $10.
