Two wins might not appear much to get excited about, but the revamped ACU Sovereigns under coach Joh Curran have gone ahead in leaps and bounds, and their record could so easily have been better.
They have lost five times by less than 10 goals.
One of those was against Geelong – reason enough for the Sovereigns to believe they get over the Cougars at Wendouree on Sunday.
A win over close neighbour would be something to celebrate, but the best part about it would be achieving success in front of a home crowd.
With just the two home games a season, the Sovereigns continue to face the challenge of winning over Ballarat.
