Traffic will flow unhindered by boom gates along North, McKinnon and Centre roads in Melbourne's south-east from Monday following upgrades to level crossings on the Frankston line.

Although the roads are now open, the Frankston train line will be closed for 37 days while works to eliminate the level crossings are carried out.
Buses will replace trains between Caulfield and Moorabbin stations while the line is shut down. The line will reopen at the beginning of August.
Premier Daniel Andrews said there had been disruption because of the "massive project", but traders who complained they had been disadvantaged would not be compensated.
"There will also be very significant benefit for those traders once we've got these intersections safer, less congested," he said.
Mr Andrews said the government had worked closely with affected traders and "if there's more that we can do then we will".
He said traders and the local economy would "thrive" following the removal of the "choke points".
"All these strips of shops will derive a significant economic benefit once these level crossings are gone."
Motorists are already able to drive past Ormond station on North Road with boom gates removed.
The state government has promised to eliminate 50 level crossings by 2022.
Four level crossings have now been removed in Melbourne since Labor came to power.
The first of them was on Burke Street in Glen Iris. However, the opposition has claimed credit for that project, saying it was funded and put out to tender by the former Coalition government.
