The truck driver says he hit the safety gantries meant to warn over-height vehicles – but thought it was just "a noise" and kept driving before getting stuck, 3AW report.
The truck hit the bridge about 10.45am Wednesday morning.
The bridge has become an icon of bad driving, with many trucks and buses becoming stuck under its low overhang.
After media pressure, VicRoads finally installed a gantry system with low-hanging rubber paddles to warn over-height vehicles as they approached the bridge.
It appears to have failed this time – possibly because the truck scraped lightly against the paddles and the driver had his music turned up loud.
The truck's wheels are being deflated so it can be driven out.
