But there are two candidates who have remained shrouded in mystery to voters.
Family First candidate Graham Howard has not had the vigour of his fellow Christian candidate Dianne Colbert, who has been a cheerful mainstay at the early voting centres and enthusiastic debate attendee.
The party website says Mr Graham is a retired bus driver from outside Ballarat who is a member of Linton CFA.
A call to Family First’s lead senate candidate was returned but the caller hung up when this reporter identified himself.
Rise Up Australia, the anti-multiculturalism party run by Sri Lankan-born preacher Danny Nalliah, preselected Tran ‘Hannah’ Tran for Ballarat.
Ms Tran has also been incommunicado, even after several calls to party HQ.
The lack of response means The Courier has been unable to check whether Ms Tran shares Reverend Dr Nalliah’s belief that Black Saturday was God’s revenge for Victoria decriminalising abortion.
Her Facebook page says she is a receptionist for Mr Nalliah’s church Catch the Fire Ministries and her party profile says she is “carer and educator” in Christian schools in the Glen Waverly region
Even more interesting is her address as listed with the Australian Electoral Commission.
It’s 90km from the edge of the electorate in the Melbourne suburb of Noble Park.
