An unidentified woman who was murdered and dumped in a car park suffered "serious and sustained" injuries in a what police believe was a case of family violence.

Her body was found by a jogger in the car park of the Hepburn Street Tennis Club in Dallas, in Melbourne's outer north, about 1.30pm on June 17.
Almost two weeks later, homicide squad detectives have been unable to identify the woman found wearing a distinctive brown headscarf with black beading.
Police set up an information caravan at a shopping centre on Blair Street, Dallas, in the hope of garnering information from the public on Thursday.
Speaking from the caravan, Homicide Squad Inspector Mick Hughes said the attack was targeted and not a "one off where someone lost their temper".
"She has suffered significant, sustained injuries," he said.
"This is a serious assault. This is not an accident [where] someone hit someone and they accidently died and they've panicked and they've placed her body there."
The woman, perceived to be of Middle Eastern appearance, was found in an open area wrapped in a dark brown and cream quilted blanket.
She is believed to be aged in her 40s, 158 centimetres tall, with a slim to medium build.
She was also wearing grey tracksuit pants and a grey hooded jumper.
Police believed the attack was "relationship based" and had a direct link to the woman's family, Inspector Hughes said.
Pathology testing has led them to believe she may be a mother.
Inspector Hughes said a weapon was used in the assault, but would not disclose further details other than it wasn't a firearm.
He urged anyone with a missing family member or friend to contact Crime Stoppers.
"If we're unable to identify her, it's really hard to progress the investigation," Inspector Hughes said.
He said it was possible the woman's extended family lived overseas and that the police were reaching out to multicultural media outlets as part of their search.
Inspector Hughes said police believe a second person would have been needed to help take the body to the car park and urged them to come forward.
He would not comment on how the woman had been killed or whether she had been sexually assaulted.
