And who could blame him.
The youngster, up from the under-18.5s and in only his third senior game, kicked the winning goal for the Devils with just seconds left on the clock.
Pepi said having a kick like this to win the game was “something you dream about as a little kid...being so close to the siren”.
“You lay back the ears. It’s all on you.”
He said he knew he had to kick the goal or go down to the top side by three points.
“(losing) wasn’t deserved by the comeback the boys had.
“I knew I would make the distance.
“I had to make sure it went through. I would have hated to miss.”
Coach Jarrod Edwards said he had been impressed by the effort of the kids in the team, which also included Matt Young (5 games) and Joel Barnes (3).
