The ACU Sovereigns have lost its past four games, albeit against four of the top six sides, and believes its clash with the seventh-placed Waves is a great chance to show its improvement from its previous 2016 meeting where it lost by seven goals.
“Everyone this week is feeling much more positive towards getting a win on the board,” Sovereigns chairman Bill Mundy said.
It will be boosted by the return of defender Alice Coakley.
Mundy said the focus during the week had been on “continuing to build intensity over the four quarters” as Sovereigns continue to look to amend the trend of inconsistency within matches.
The Sovereigns have shown its ability to match it with some of the VNL’s best through portions of games over the last month, but are yet to truly threaten a side deep into the game. Wednesday’s clash in Melbourne begins at 7.00pm.
