AUSTRALIAN Thoroughbred Bloodstock-raced Jakkalberry has drawn barrier 13 for Saturday’s $2.5m Caulfield Cup, 2400m.
Jakkalberry has not raced since taking out the group 1 US St Leger, 2700m, at Arlington on August 18.
The seven-year-old entire was one of several imports to fare badly in today’s barrier draw.
Favourite Glencadam Gold, which is unbeaten in his four Australian starts for Gai Waterhouse, landed gate 21 in the 22-strong field.
Glencadam Gold has raced on the pace in each of his outings since arriving from England.
Melbourne Cup winners Americain and Dunaden drew barriers 19 and 22 respectively, while the John Sadler-trained Winchester secured 16.
Three of the four emergencies drew 15 or wider.
