Justice must be seen to be done

Re the headline last Saturday "10 years for death", I don't know any of the parties involved but to my way of thinking Simone Teusner's life did not mean much to the court: 10 years for her killer, probably out in seven.

At the same time the killer of Victor Chang was released after serving 21 years of his sentence.

Big difference - was Victor Chang worth more than Simone?

I doubt her family would think so.

Are our courts just emphasing the point that women do not hold the same value as men?

Justice is not being seen to be done.
