Shane Snibson is in the second year of a two-year contract.
The Burra has not given any indication as to whether it is a new appointment or a contract extension for Snibson, who played with Sebastopol before joining the North Ballarat Roosters when they joined the VFL in 1996.
Snibson joined Sebastopol as non-playing coach after a six-year assistant role with the Roosters.
He filled a vacancy left by former AFL/VFL player Phil Carman, who was sacked with three games to play in 2014.
Snibson last season led Burra to one win – its first since 2012.
Sebastopol has already had two wins this year, including a memorable performance over reigning premier Darley.
