STURT Diamonds put their best foot forward to overcome Athlete’s Foot Cup reigning premier Dela Assuntas in Monday night’s netball.
The 64 to 52 victory was the first time Sturt has beaten Dela.
Their tight defensive pressure over the whole court was a major factor in the win.
Sturt’s goal shooter Cynna Kydd was on fire, shooting 48 out of the team’s 64 goals.
Amanda Guthrie fed Kydd well with precise passes, along with the attack line of centre Kellie Sommerville and wing attack Stacey Rae.
Dela Assuntas defenders Lauren Quinlan and Emma Ryan worked tirelessly to try to combat the Diamonds.
It was a very competitive and high standard of play, with Dela GS Cindy Daniel scoring 32 out of theR 52 shots put up.
Sturt led every quarter but for the second, where scores were even.
