Elsewhere in the competition, Sunbury breezed past Melton 56 to 39 to sure up its place in the top four, while Sebastopol thumped Melton South by 36 goals to help further its finals credentials.
Meanwhile Redan’s finals hopes were dealt a blow at Darley, falling two goals short of the Devils 33-31 despite leading at every change. Redan now sits a game outside of the top six, and will have to chase down Ballarat if it is to feature in the pointy end of the season.
