North Ballarat has gone from strength to strength over the course of the season with Saturday’s 35-point win over Calder Cannons putting a finals berth beyond doubt while the next task for the Rebels is earning a double chance. Coach Gerard FitzGerald said while the group’s form was promising, it was important to continue to build from week to week and not be content with its current standing.
“The challenge is we need to get better, if we do get better, it could lead us to an exciting finish to the year. And if we play our part in it, it could mean we get a top four spot and if you get a top four spot you give yourself a very good chance.” FitzGerald said.
FitzGerald said the club wouldn’t be taking Bendigo Pioneers lightly, given how well it plays at home and it is still vying for a finals spot.
