Avoca Cup
COMEBACK galloper Copper Vue and New Zealand visitor Sonny Wellington will carry the top weight in Saturday's PJA & Blue Pyrenees Avoca Cup, 1860m.
Each has 59 kilograms in the $15,000 event.
Eddies Cassar will take the ride on Copper Vue for Geelong trainer Lyle Marsden, while Linda Meech will be in the saddle on the Kevin Myers-prepared Sonny Wellington.
Copper Vue has had five unplaced runs since returning from more ythan two years away from the races, while Sonny Wellington is yet to race in Australia.
Inaura (trained by dan O'Sullivan) and in-form Captain Segal (Go Shigemi) will fly the Ballarat flag in the seven-horse field.
Avoca Shire Turf Club will have seven races, with the first at 1pm.
