TODAY is my first day back at work after a week in sunny Thailand.
It is never easy coming back to work and I think the more you think about it, the worse it is.
For me, after chatting with a few colleagues and catching up on everything, I was back into the swing of things within half an hour.
It's funny how long the working day seems, though, after holidays.
By 10.30am I was starving and at 1pm my eyes were getting pretty sleepy and my body was ready for my afternoon siesta, which I have been indulging in the past week.
But after all my whingeing, the one thing that gives me peace of mind is that by getting through the working day, I am already saving for the next trip away!
My sister's wedding is next weekend so I can tell you in advance my life for the next week is going to fully revolve around last minute things for the big day.
As for you, I have a few ideas up my sleeve as to how to spend your evening.
This one came to my attention via The Courier's Facebook page and I'm so glad it was posted on our wall, because until today I had no idea that the Ballarat Cabaret Festival was on at the moment. The following events are all on tonight:
Amie Brulee is performing at the Mining Exchange, in Lydiard Street North, at
8pm and is said to be playing a "Frenchy combo of jazz guitar, double bass and drums".
Geraldine Quinn is featuring at Craig's Cellar in Lydiard Street South from 7pm with her award winning show YOU'RE THE VOICE.
At 9pm at Craig's Cellar in Lydiard Street South, UNDIES, performed by Megan Shorey, will thoroughly entertain you with her hypothesis that we can chart the story of our lives through the underwear we sport.
Lydiard Wine Bar, Lydiard Street North is hosting Chelsea Gibb from 8.30pm; and Tracy Bourne will be singing at 11pm at Craig's Cellar in Lydiard Street South.
For tickets to these shows go to www.ballaratcabaret.com or show up at least five minutes before the show at the venue and purchase tickets on the door (cash only).
