A cast of 65 have spent the last six months perfecting their rollerblading and are set to take over the school’s Robinson Centre this week.
Director Eleanor Jones said the musical was set to make a mockery of the original film with a hilarious take on the unusual story line.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun with ridiculous characters and a lot of references to the movie,” she said.
“There is a lot in there for everyone. It’s good for the older generations to relive their childhood and good for younger generations to get to know what their parents are on about.”
She said the production, from the music to makeup and choreography, was run completely by the students.
Zanadu will be performed at Ballarat High School’s Robinson Centre at 7.30pm on August 4-6.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students/concession and can be purchased at www.trybooking.com/210452
