Competing with a vicious wind under-lights at Springside Recreation Reserve, the hosts were able to draw first blood form a counter attack in the first five minutes. The Stallions proceeded to lock down play for the remainder of the half, with neither side creating any notable chances.
The Vikings found their breakthrough in the 65th minute when Nick Dean made connection with a corner. The Vikings continued to press late in the contest and had a goal overruled, and were forced to accept the draw.
While the Vikings would have gone into the clash with the lowly-ranked Stallions with the hope of bringing home the three points, they remain in contention to feature at the end of the year thanks to a number of upset wins elsewhere in the competition.
