While Ash Constable got the Miners off to a flying start by scoring the first five points of the game, the raw talent of the Melbourne side was on display early with Ari Stewart and Daryl Corletto proving deadly from three-point range as the sides went the first break tied.
However from there the result never looked in doubt, as Bailey continued to rear his head in the paint. As the Ballarat side steadily built on its lead the crowd was sent into raptures, with Craig Moller hit a buzzer-beating three from half court.
While Melbourne talls Stewart and Bo Liu both turned up the excitement with dunks in the second half, the momentum was all with Ballarat. Earnest Ross sealed the deal for the hosts in the fourth by converting a steal with an athletic dunk of his own.
