NORTH Melbourne Football Club will hold a competition for primary school pupils in Ballarat today.
Between 9.30am and 2.30pm at Eureka Stadium, nearly 250 children from nine schools will run on the field in the inaugural North Afl 9s Cup.
The event is a way for North Melbourne to thank schools for their support of NMFC’s Huddle in Schools Program.
Pupils will play AFL 9s, a shorter version of the game. Participating schools have worked with the University of Ballarat developing football skills in a four-week program.
Schools participating include Mt Blowhard Primary School, St Patrick’s Primary School Gordon, St Francis Xavier Primary School, Ballan Primary School, Yuille Park Community College, Skipton Primary School, Dana Street Primary School, St James Parish Primary School, St Columba’s Primary School and Woady Yaloak Primary School.
