CFA District 15 duty offiver Gavin Hope said fires starting from solar panel were rare and CFA had contacted the independent technical regulator to examine further.
The fire was believed to have started in solar panels on top of a home garage on Sunday, about noon.
The incident caused extensive damaged to the Fisken Street house and paramedics treated two residents for smoke inhalation.
Seven fire trucks were dispatched to the blaze and it took firefighters almost two hours to have the fire under control.
Crews remained on the scene to help protect furniture from water damage, salvaging what they could and to clean up. Some firefighters returned on Monday to further help and follow up.
Mr Hope said this was an example of caring for the community, beyond fighting fires.
