AN amazing three-dimensional butterfly drawing was one of the highlight’s of Ballarat High School’s VCE art and design exhibition.
BHS visual arts co-ordinator Jamie Greenwood said the work, by student Elena Horgan, was incredible.
“The butterflies actually looked like they were flying off the page,” Mr Greenwood said.
The exhibition of works from about 50 year 10, 11 and 12 students was held at BHS’s Robinson Centre on Tuesday night. Works from six subjects were on show, including visual communication and design, media studies, art, photography, paint and drawing and textiles.
“We had a good turn-out, there were over 150 people there. It was very positive. Everyone is always impressed by the calibre of the work.
“The catwalk is also always very popular.”
Mr Greenwood said two other stand-out pieces were a textiles project by Sasha Faull, in which she turned a second-hand op shop suit into a funky and functional shorts suit.
Media student Aisha Lloyd-Bonney also produced her own magazine, Avo, which was in the same style as professional women’s magazine Frankie.
