A GAVIN Webb century propelled Wendouree to a powerful position after day one of its Ballarat Cricket Association club firsts grand final rematch with Napoleons-Sebastopol.
Webb, batting at number three, used all parts of Wendouree 2 in his 115, which came in 170 balls and included 15 fours and two sixes.
The left-hander's innings provided a platform for the Red Caps, which through a quick-fire 63 (51 balls) from Tristan Dixon, were bowled out for 283 shortly before 6pm.
In a good day for batting sides, Darley made 4/305 at home to North Ballarat.
Captain-coach Matt Cape (96) and Tim Hughes (93) starred as the Lions produced on a good wicket at Darley Park.
Jack James was unbeaten on 105 as Brown Hill recorded 7/241 against Mt Clear, Ballarat-Redan made 254 in its clash with East Ballarat and Coronet City had a late rally to make 190 against Golden Point.
