Growing up on a farm in Skipton, Siobhan Liston never dreamed she would one day be strutting catwalks or having her image blasted across major ad campaigns.

The 23-year-old law student, who currently studies in Geelong, will return to her home region next month when Melbourne Spring Fashion Week hosts a series of regional runway events in Ballarat.
Ms Liston has only been modelling for a year but has already kicked some major goals – such as being one of 30 finalists across the country for this year’s Miss World Australia.
Last month, she represented the state alongside four other Victorian finalists, recycling her Year 12 formal dress for the evening gown section of the beauty pageant.
“I grew up in the country, quite far from the city and modelling. I grew up on a farm and modelling was never something I had considered,” she said.
“I was considering some part-time work while I was studying and one of my friends suggested it. I brushed it off for quite a while and then I thought I would give it a shot.”
While Ms Liston is clearly still young, she said she had actually arrived to modelling quite late.
“I’m quite late to the game in comparison to most of the modelling industry,” she said.
“It’s a tough industry. I’ve really enjoyed it but it is hard. It’s all about how you look, pretty much.
“I think that’s one of the advantages of being slightly older is you know how to deal with it if you’re being critiqued on certain things. You can take it on board or you can walk away from it, because obviously it’s an industry that does revolve around your looks.”
Ms Liston, who is signed with the Melbourne agency Brazen Models, said one of her biggest campaigns to date has been for Holden Colorado.
“I think the exciting thing about it is you never know what sort of job you’re going to go to. You never know who you’re going to meet or what kind of work it’s going to be,” she said.
Ms Liston will be fitted next week for the Ballarat fashion shows.
The fashion series will focus on Australian wool producers from the western district and will be held from September 2 to 4. Tickets from $20.
