Ballarat sits four points behind Sebastopol, and will get the opportunity to narrow the gap this Sunday when they face the Vikings on the synthetic turf at Morshead Park.
Ballarat was narrowly defeated by front-runners Forest last weekend, conceding in the 85th minute as the Rangers registered a 2-1 success.
Ballarat coach Justin Whitcher said while a top two finish remained a possibility, his charges were looking to maintain momentum heading into their finals campaign.
“The result is more of a mental thing for us,” Whitcher said. “If we can beat Warrnambool (in the last round) and Sebastopol, it gives us a real mental advantage.”
Elsewhere in the division one men’s competition, Forest will take on Warrnambool and Bacchus Marsh will host Creswick. North United was due to play Vic Park under lights on Friday.
