Already struggling with back-related hamstring soreness, Richardson suffered what coach Travis Hodgson described as a “deep-seeded” corked leg on the same side in a heavy collision in the third quarter against Lake Wendouree at Wendouree on Saturday.
Richardson played on, but was unable to move with complete ease – struggling to get out of walk at the resumption of the last quarter.
Hodgson said Richardson had not been 100 per cent fit for sometime because of a tight hamstring, with the Cobras taking various opportunities throughout the season to rest him during games.
“We’ll be guided by him,” Hodgson said.’
He said if Richardson was able to train on Thursday he would most likely play.
Bacchus Marsh faces a rematch with Lake Wendouree in the qualifying final at the Eastern Oval on Saturday.
The Lakers came from 15 points down in time-on in the last quarter of the last home and away round to defeat the Cobras by three points and claim top position.
Meanwhile, Lakers defender Scott Carey expects to fit to play despite losing feeling in his right arm after a knock in the first quarter.
He attempted to play on, but without full use of the arm was eventually forced to sit out the last quarter.
In a dramatic finish to the regular season, reigning premier Darley retained sixth place and a finals berth while East Point missed out.
