But Ballarat’s Wayne Johnston, who owns Gold Rush Mini Golf, has done a fair job of success in both fields.
Johnston, known for his work in encouraging young Ballarat musicians through talent contests, has just released an album, Now and Then, alongside well-known Australian guitarist Phil Emmanuel.
He also released an album in 2001, The Cabaret Club Album. It was nominated for the Tiara Country Music Awards in 2012 as best new country release.
Both albums are available at Midwest Music, Rediscovery, or at www.waynejohnston.com.au, with 50 per cent of proceeds going to Karden Disability Support Foundation.
