AS young music student in Ballarat, I would like to thank the staff of Allans Music Billy Hyde for what has been a wholly positive experience on all levels, and for its service to the Ballarat musical community.
In my interactions with the store, I have always been met by friendly and understanding staff who are willing to help with any queries and offer excellent musical advice.
The Ballarat store has held a strong business relationship with a number of schools in the area, which has helped foster the development of a generation of young musicians who are now equipped with professional level skills and experiences.
Musical education carries with innumerable benefits, but perhaps the most prevalent of these lies in the challenge of working hard in a group such as an orchestra to achieve the beauty of sound. This develops a strong sense of community, as well as skills which can be applied to many other faculties.
The closing of the store will be tragic, and felt by many. It is my hope that the musical life of Ballarat will continue to grow, having been nurtured in part by the folks at Allans Ballarat.
