The 10th Chev Convention will next year come to Ballarat for the first time, in an action-packed weekend spanning over three days in March.
The event had previously been held in Bendigo, however organisers chose to relocate it to Ballarat.
A small teaser to the event was held in the Bridge Mall on Saturday, with 14 Chevrolets lining the shopping strip as a prelude to the big show next year.
Hosted by the '55 '56 '57 Chev Club of Victoria, the event is expected to draw thousands of people to the city.
Club president Greg Rowe said it was exciting to see the event moved to Ballarat, where it had never been held before.
"We know Ballarat is car crazy, so it seems like the perfect place to hold it," he said.
"It's going to be an action-packed weekend."
Mr Rowe said everybody in the club, including himself, had always had a strong passion for Chevrolets.
"I always wanted since I was 15, ever since I saw one out of the front of my grandma's house," he said.
Some of the cars are estimated to be worth up $200,000.
The 10th Chev Convention will be held on March 15-17 next year.
