In June, Public Transport Minister Jacinta Allan said the costs would be finalised by late August, however, official figures are still unknown.
A spokesperson from Ms Allan’s office said the estimated costs remain between $50 and $60 million.
Western Victoria MP Joshua Morris said the government owes an explanation on how much money was spent to fix the issue.
“It is now the end of August and the government has failed to disclose the true cost of their rail fiasco,” Mr Morris said.
“I have written to the Minister demanding answers on behalf of the thousands of commuters who suffered through months of cancellations and bus replacements.”
V/Line has been unable to provide costings of bus replacements on the Ballarat line.
