I’m ready to move on to the next phase of my life and career, which includes pursuing coaching at AFL level.
- Jed Adcock
The Western Bulldogs player announced he will hang up the boots at season’s end and told the club’s website that he now wishes to pursue coaching at the elite level.
Adcock played 206 games across 12 years with the Brisbane Lions before joining the Bulldogs via the rookie draft after the 2015 season.
The 30-year-old has started in seven matches in 2016, where he has averaged 14.4 disposals.
“I want to thank the club for giving me the opportunity to continue my career,” Adcock told westernbulldogs.com.au.
“Although it’s only been one year, I’ve learned a lot both as a player and from a coaching standpoint.”
“I’m ready to move on to the next phase of my life and career, which includes pursuing coaching at AFL level.”
Adcock, originally from Maryborough, was drafted to the Lions at pick 33 in 2003 and made his debut for the club in round seven of 2004.
He went on to captain the Lions for two seasons.
Adcock will remain eligible for selection for the rest of the Bulldogs’ campaign.
