Ballarat Red Devils coach James Robinson expects to see the same ferocity as its opposition as it looks to claim a top-end scalp and respond from what was a poor loss last weekend in Saturday’s clash with Whittlesea.

The Reds may be out of promotion contention with two weeks remaining, while its final two opponents are vying for promotion but Robinson said that was no excuse to end the season in dour fashion.
Robinson was adamant about the importance of continuing to put its game plan into practice and build towards next season.
“Nothing changes even though we’ve got two games to go. Some people’s mindset is to look to do something different. No, we’ll keep with what we’re trying to do and keep pushing – we try to achieve the maximum at very cost,” Robinson said.
“We’re not going to be a chance for promotion but we still know there’s three points up for grabs.
“Our thought process does not change whatsoever, no matter what the variables surrounding it. We’re going to play for three points, we’re going to try to play our game, prepare the way we do and execute the plan.”
Key player David King will not line-up for the Reds this week as he continues to recover from a meniscus complaint.
Ballarat lost to Bendigo City, who sit bottom of the ladder, last week but Robinson said that was in the past and while the club had addressed it, it was now focused on gaining the points at Epping Stadium.
Robinson drew confidence from the side’s last meeting where it shared the points following a 1-1 draw in round 12.
“Any result that doesn’t go your way is a disappointment. But that was then, we’ve moved on.
“We address it, we go through it and then we put it to bed and focus on the forthcoming game.
“Last time it was a 1-1 game (against Whittlesea) but we had the majority of play. But we know they’ve got everything to play for.”
