The Central Highlands Football League club is now on the lookout for a new senior coach and key forward following the departure of the brothers.
Newlyn president Simon Dwyer said the Cats had come to a mutual agreement with Kal that he would not continue on at the helm in 2017 and admitted that meant Will would also leave the club.
Kal joined Newlyn as a player for season 2013 and then lured Will to be his assistant when appointed to take on the coaching role ahead of the 2014 campaign.
“(Kal) took the job on after we had a fair player exodus – when Adam Sewell and Chris Gardner finished up – and he certainly implemented a lot of good things within the club and pushed the junior development side of things,” Dwyer told The Courier.
Dwyer said Will, who booted 60 goals this season, was one of better forwards seen at Newlyn during his time at the club.
The former Adelaide Crows player has been a shining light in attack since joining the Cats, which also saw him represent the CHFL at interleague level.
Newlyn finished 14th in Kal’s first year in charge, climbed to ninth the following campaign before slipping to a 12th-placed finish in 2016.
