Team penning is an equestrian sport which involves teams of three horse riders separating three cows from a herd 18 before guiding the three to a pen on the other side of an arena.
The weekend-long event saw 110 teams of riders from across the state descend on Waubra.
Event co-manager Sally Bedggood said the 32-year-old half-back had become a regular at the events over the course of the year.
The competition was won by Bedggood alongside Tony Piccolo and Ryan Robinson, with the trio completing the task in the impressive time of 73.68 seconds.
The competition will take a break in October before returning in November.
Meanwhile, Gibson will return to the training track this week ahead of Hawthorn’s qualifying final against Geelong on Friday.
