Kayla Gee, 29, of The Esplanade, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court to failing to giveaway.
She was previously without conviction fined $303 but granted a rehearing and then this week without conviction fined $100 with $79.90 costs.
Police said that at 5.45pm on April 4 Gee was driving a black Mitsubishi Lancer out of the Dennington Woolworths car park with her two-year-old son in a rear seat.
She drove out of the western exit onto Raglan Parade after looking both ways and turned right, but collided with another vehicle heading west.
The other driver swerved, trying to avoid a collision but the vehicles crashed.
There was damage caused to the front and rear of the victim's vehicle.
Gee's vehicle was also extensively damaged.
After exchanging details she left the accident scene and was later issued with a penalty notice.
Two police offices went to Gee's home at 6.30pm that night and she said she left as her car was leaking oil all over the road, she couldn't get it out of second gear and just wanted to get to her nearby home.
In a separate case, a woman has been placed on diversion after sending her partner a text message image of her holding a knife to her young son.
The child was visibly upset in the horror text message.
Magistrate Jonathan Klestadt banned publication of the woman's name.
Treating doctors, including a psychologist, submitted reports saying the woman was unwell at the time as she had changed her prescription medication.
Mr Klestadt said it was an unusual case and, in one respect, very worrying.
He said it was an example of what could happen if people did not strictly adhere to a doctor's prescription.
The magistrate said it was extremely unlikely the events would happen again.
