WINNING the top award in one of Ballarat’s most prestigious events of the year has this creative bunch donning their boxing gloves and calling for challengers to take them on for the trophy next year.
Winner of last year’s mayor’s choice award for best overall entry in the Begonia Festival parade – “floating synergy” entrant Ballarat Ballet Centre and Lifeline Ballarat, with the support of Beechworth Bakery – are using their success to encourage others to get involved.
Chatterbox Creative Events’ Andreas Litras said registrations were open and he hoped people got inspired and entered their group into the iconic Ballarat event.
“The parade has really grown over the past couple of years and initiatives like the floating synergies program, which seeks support from local businesses to assist groups to create a visually dynamic parade entry, will run again in 2013,” Mr Litras said.
“The parade is a great way to celebrate the true community spirit of our city.”
