BGC operations manager Gary Fry told The Courier the club was forced to ban golf for a period from September 10th until last Saturday evening, when nine holes was made available to players.
Fry said there was a brief time when nine holes was opened during this closure, with access and safety the main concerns for players.
The external practice facilities at the club were also impacted and unavailable for use during this time.
On Monday morning, Fry said that it was anticipated all 18 holes would be opened by Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Midlands Golf Club was back open for play on Monday after shutting down its course for eight days, including two busy Saturday competitions.
Elsewhere, the RACV Goldfields Resort at Creswick was largely unaffected and was closed for just one day during the middle of last week. This was as a result of an issue with the 15th hole, which incorporates a large dam.
Staff at the Buninyong and Mt Xavier clubs reported no real issues and were open across the wet period.
More than 130mm of rain has fallen in Ballarat since September 9.
