THE RED Hot Summer Tour is returning to Ballarat next year with its biggest line-up yet.
The Aussie Rock Extravaganza will feature music icon Jimmy Barnes with special guests Baby Animals, Ian Moss, Dragon and Chocolate Starfish.
Having headlined the tour in previous years, frontman of Cold Chisel and top-charting solo artist Jimmy Barnes will be back by popular demand next year.
The concerts are a chance for rock fans to see Barnes at his best and enjoy an extensive catalogue which has made him an icon in the Australian music scene.
Regional Touring promoter Duane McDonald said it was exciting to hold the concert at Kryal Castle this time around.
“With the redevelopment out there it’s going to put a whole new life into the castle, so to have the concert there will be great,” he said.
“With the INXS concert we had we were pretty well at capacity, so hopefully we can do that again.”
One of the biggest concert experiences on the Australian touring circuit, the 2013 event will spread its wings further afield to incorporate shows throughout New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
Mr McDonald said event organisers aimed to make the tour accessible to everyone since it was rare that families could attend live shows of this calibre.
“By allowing children under 12 to attend for free makes it more affordable for families and for some of the kids it’s their first experience of a live concert,” he said.
The Red Hot Summer Tour 2013 Aussie Rock Extravaganza will be held on Saturday, February 2 from 4pm at Kryal Castle. Tickets will be on sale from 9am Thursday and are available from Ticketmaster and Regent Cinemas Ballarat. For details visit www.redhotsummertour.com.au.
