Ms Palazzo, who took out first place in the Angels division at Sunday’s competition at Wendouree, is in her first year as a body builder.
“It’s massive, you do what’s called a peak week for the week before your competition, that’s when you play around with your water and salt intake and you are carb depleting so you slow down all the carbs you’re having and on the Friday you carb up before your show.
“It’s not wake up, get your hair and make up done, put a costume on and go, there’s so much that goes into it.
“This was 21 weeks that I’ve been working towards this show.”
Saturday’s show was the second ever for the primary school teacher.
“This whole world is actually quite separate to who I am, I’m actually quite shy and conservative and this is like my alter ego, it’s completely different,” she said.
Categories at the Muscle Model Showdown included Mr Physique, bikini and sports modelling.
